FEATURES OF OUR FIRST RESPONDER MARRIAGE RETREATS

LEADERSHIP

Our retreat speakers and group leaders bring a wealth of experience and are comprised of active or retired first responders, therapists married to first responders or experience in treating them or providing marriage counseling for them, and guest speakers with personal stories related to the topics that most impact first responder marriages.

Our first responder leadership is an even balance of police, firefighters, and EMS experience, with some of them also having formal education or certifications in mental health.

CONTENT

Our retreat topics cover content related to specific risks to first responder marriages related to the job, such as wellness topics like trauma, moral injury, addiction, and suicide; however, we also discuss common marital topics like conflict resolution, parenting, infidelity, intimacy, love languages, and developing marital resiliency.

Much of our content prioritizes the goal of educating the spouses of first responders on the effects of the job on their partner and themselves, and how they can best respond to support a healthy home life.
